Executions in U.S. reach 1,000
Kenneth Lee Boyd was executed for murdering his wife and father-in-law this morning according to the Associated Press. Debate about the death penalty has changed in recent years because of exonerations proving people did not committ crimes they were accused of. The shift from the debate over crime, punishment and its reflection on our society to the threat that executions will create a potential miscarriage of justice that can never be undone is discussed in depth by writer Dan Babwin in the Chicago Sun Times.
